Employing a quantitative method to analyze the data, the researchers discovered several instances of various word formation processes in both languages. In English, this study found 14 cases of meaning extension, 5 of acronyms, 5 of coinage, 4 of clipping, 3 of compounding, 1 of conversion, and 1 of syllable change. Meanwhile, Vietnamese had 13 cases of meaning extension, 8 of borrowing, 8 of syllable change, 7 of compounding, 6 of multiple processes, and 2 of coinage. Some previous researchers and linguists have studied oxymorons from different aspects- with a comparison and contrast in native and non-native languages about the functions, concepts, categorizations, semantic logical foundations, and expressive values. The article uses qualitative and quantitative research methods with techniques like description, linguistic and contextual analysis, induction, deduction, comparison, etc. Semantic fields and oxymoron types were grouped as part of the data statistics from a collection of 570 oxymorons, based on the sources of numerous articles, websites, plays, poems, textbooks, novels, short stories, colloquialisms, everyday conversations, sayings and quotes for one year. The data was then combined and analyzed to determine the semantic aspects of literal and figurative meanings for the stylistic variation of literary, artistic, philosophical, media, and everyday expressions. The author has researched the hot trend speech patterns (new trends) that young people often use on Facebook and surveyed the characteristics of the origin, linguistic characteristics, and socio-cultural characteristics of this new language. The author used qualitative and quantitative research methods from the data source, which are hot trend words and sentence patterns in chats, articles, and comments on Facebook. The research results show three basic sources of hot trend language: movies, music videos, clips, and posts on social networks. Hot trend sentence patterns are used in three basic forms: inserting English into Vietnamese speech, using slang, and using new structures. Thus, improving and practicing this skill plays a crucial part in teaching translation and interpretation majors. Up to now, not many studies have been carried out on enhancing interpretation practice through making group presentations. This article, as a result of research conducted during 8 weeks in the 2<sup>nd</sup> term (2023-2024), shows learners' improvement in vocabulary and expression, together with equivalence and using body language in interpretation practice. The method mainly relies on qualitative methods, including the teacher’s classroom observation, note-taking, and learners' surveys. The attempt is to enhance an individual's capacity to interpret, describe, and analyze imagery by engaging in active observation and collaborative discussion. This study aims to clarify how visual thinking strategy is employed in speaking lessons to solve students' English speaking problems in university education. The sample included 70 English-majored students at Dong Nai Technology University, comprising 35 first-year students and 35 sophomores. The examination of the questionnaire and semi-structured interviews indicated that activities inspired by Visual Thinking effectively promote students' ease in speaking situations, thereby resulting in improved practice and proficiency in English speaking ability. This suggests that Visual Thinking may serve as an effective approach to providing university students with an active learning environment. Nonetheless, the notion of visual thinking and the benefits of activities inspired by visual thinking are relatively unfamiliar concepts within the realm of English education. The research intends to assist both educators and learners in addressing challenges related to translating linking words from English to Vietnamese. The transitions are analyzed through the theoretical frameworks of Halliday and Hassan (1976) and Nguyen Hong Con’s (2005) translation method. The study primarily employs qualitative, quantitative, and descriptive approaches. Data is gathered on additive transitions along with two translation methods: word-for-word and addition. The analysis covers 22 additive transitions used 1,555 times in Jack London’s novel, with translator Hoang Ha Vu rendering 09 of these through omission. The study's primary aim is to examine how refusals are expressed in English and how these expressions are translated into Vietnamese, considering linguistic differences</em><em>.
