Nghiên cứu nhằm tìm ra đặc điểm của chủ nghĩa anh hùng thông qua phân tích nhân vật Hồng trong tiểu thuyết Mưa đỏ của Chu Lai và Mary Anne Bell trong truyện ngắn Người tình sông Trà Bồng của Tim O’Brien. Bằng việc áp dụng phương pháp ngôn ngữ học ngữ liệu và phân tích nội dung, nghiên cứu chỉ ra tính anh hùng ở nữ giới là sản phẩm của những quá trình văn hóa khác nhau ở những bối cảnh khác nhau. Các quá trình này bao gồm quá trình hòa nhập và quá trình đồng hóa, được thể hiện thông qua sự biến đổi về ngoại hình, tâm lý và vai trò trong chiến tranh. Kết quả nghiên cứu có thể phục vụ cho các nghiên cứu liên ngành, qua đó mang lại hiểu biết sâu sắc hơn về tác động của chiến tranh đối với nạn nhân là phụ nữ và góp phần phá vỡ định kiến giới, khuôn mẫu giới áp đặt lên phụ nữ.
