SEMANTIC FEATURES OF INFANTRY TERMS IN ENGLISH AND VIETNAMESE

Based on a corpus of 405 English terms and 409 Vietnamese terms, the article is aimed at (i) investigating the semantic features of Infantry terms in English and Vietnamese, and (ii) examining the similarities and differences between English and Vietnamese Infantry terms in terms of semantic features. The article employs descriptive and comparative methods to describe, to compare and contrast the semantic features between English and Vietnamese Infantry terms. The findings of the study can be used as a useful reference for cadets of army schools.
