Abstract

For millennia, silk painting has contributed to enriching the historical treasure of oriental silk painting in particular and world fine art in general. From a special craft, spinning silk, weaving silk creates luxurious and beautiful costumes. Silk contributes to creating a new elegant art genre, imbued with artistic identity and value - silk painting. With humble beginnings centuries ago in China, India, Korea, Japan... to Vietnam, silk paintings have created a history of their own with Asian philosophies and aesthetics. The art of modern silk painting in Vietnam was born on the basis of the formation of the Indochina Fine Arts College. Applying Western academic lessons, on the basis of Eastern silk, the first generation of Vietnamese artists who graduated from Vietnam made their own mark in the exhibition of colonial skills held in 1931 in Paris. For nearly a century, the art of Vietnamese silk painting has developed and marked with many achievements in the history of fine art. From the methods of synthesis, analysis, art studies contribute to understanding the art of silk painting with achievements in the opening stage to confirm the artistic value of this genre.
