Montessori là phương pháp giáo dục trẻ em dựa trên nghiên cứu và phát triển của bác sĩ, nhà giáo dục người Ý Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Phương pháp giáo dục Montessori được cộng đồng quốc tế công nhận và đã được áp dụng thực hiện cho bậc học mầm non tiểu học và trung học ở nhiều quốc gia trên thế giới. Trong bài viết, tác giả trình bày một số vấn đề chung về phương pháp giáo dục Montessori và đưa ra những hoạt động ứng dụng phương pháp Montessori trong hoạt động khám phá khoa học cho trẻ mẫu giáo tại các cơ sở giáo dục mầm non ở Việt Nam nhằm phát huy tính tích cực hoạt động của trẻ, khơi gợi lòng ham hiểu biết, thích khám phá về các sự vật, hiện tượng xung quanh. Thông qua đó rèn luyện những kỹ năng cho trẻ, đặt nền tảng cho việc học ở các cấp học tiếp theo và cho việc học tập suốt đời.
