Trong bối cảnh chuyển đổi số và phát triển kinh tế tri thức, nghiên cứu nhằm làm rõ vai trò và xu hướng phát triển mô hình đại học tư thục thông minh, một yêu cầu cấp thiết đối với giáo dục đại học Việt Nam. Bằng phương pháp tổng hợp và so sánh kinh nghiệm từ Mỹ, Singapore, Nhật Bản với thực tiễn trong nước, nghiên cứu chỉ ra rằng mô hình đại học thông minh dựa trên công nghệ 4.0 như trí tuệ nhân tạo, dữ liệu lớn và Internet vạn vật giúp tối ưu hóa hoạt động quản trị, cá nhân hóa học tập và thúc đẩy học tập suốt đời. Kết quả khẳng định đây là xu hướng tất yếu để đào tạo nhân lực chất lượng cao và hội nhập quốc tế. Do đó, các trường đại học tư thục Việt Nam cần đẩy mạnh ứng dụng công nghệ số, xây dựng hạ tầng thông minh, đồng thời Nhà nước cần có chính sách hỗ trợ nhằm thúc đẩy phát triển đại học tư thục thông minh, góp phần vào quá trình chuyển đổi số và phát triển kinh tế tri thức quốc gia.
